Santa Teresa, a beautiful beach

We left early Thursday morning from our host parents homes. My host mom called a cab to take me to the bus station, where I met Manda and Annie.

We took a bus to Puntarenas, where we planned to meet up with Alyssa. Unfortunately  our bus had been late, and she was not waiting for us at the bus station. After some searching and some failed phone calls, we finally found her at the boat dock. While waiting in line for the ferri, we boat a few snacks. I bought a bag of coconut water (sounds gross, but it was delicious and ice cold!) While Annie had some Rambutan.

I caught Manda getting a picture of hers
After we got off the ferri, we had to board another bus, and after a long drive we arrived in the tiny town of Santa Teresa. This area is known for its beaches and surf-able waves, and many who come here fall in love with the area and decide to stay.

We stayed at a Hostel run by a woman from Germany, who came for the surfing and couldn't bring herself to leave.
The hostel we stayed at. It was a super cute place, very colorful and one of my favorite places that we stayed at. This hostel is also right next to a small SODA which had excellent Costa Rican food.
Our friend Natalie had pointed out that black pepper was almost nowhere in Costa Rica, so we took this picture while eating at the SODA because we finally found pepper!
After we fed our empty stomachs, we walked to the beach to check it out. It was starting to get dark by the time we had made it there, but the beach was gorgeous and the water was refreshing! The waves were pretty strong, and a few people we out surfing.

At night time, after all the swimming and traveling, we started to get silly.

After swimming and fooling around on the beach, we caught a few ghost crabs, and went to a small store to buy something for dinner. Much to my great happiness, we found my favorite brand of soda there! I never expected to find Jones soda in Costa Rica.

The next day was gorgeous and without clouds. However, this is the day my camera died, and remained dead  until I got home and sent it in to Nikon. (They fixed it! YAY!)

Things got a little crazy from this point on. After swimming in the morning and breakfast at the Hostel, we did a little shopping while we waited for the bus. Meanwhile Kati's plane was delayed, and she called me in complete frustration because she was worried about us getting there to meet her.

Manda and I decided to go get Kati and we would spend the night in San Jose, while Alyssa and Annie went to Alyssa's home stay in Puntarenas for a cookout that her host mom wanted to have for her.

Manda and I were able to pick up Kati at the airport no problem, but were tricked by a seemingly nice cab driver who offered to help us out then WAY overcharged us. If anyone ever offers to help you find a taxi, yes they will expect a tip, and yes, IT'S A TRAP!

We found a Hostel in town called CASA COLON which was nice. They had rooms where you had to share with other people, which we didn't love but the people we roomed with were nice enough. We stayed here again the last night of our adventure, and asked for a room with just us, which they allowed.

Now begins the last few adventures of our trip, our last week in Costa Rica.
