Hunger Games 2013 Final Battle and more behind the scenes!

With only three tributes left, district one and two face off again, this time to actually fight.

An interesting note to add here is, at this point we had no idea who would win the games. We just decided to play out each scene, shot by shot, so that one person would make a move, and the other would try and think of a way to counter the attack.

As the two careers fight, district 12 sneak attacks from the tree line. 

District 2 is hit!

This was a tricky and potentially dangerous scene. Andrew has a very firm grip on the sword here, and we put something in between  the sword and her throat. We also used the thick corn syrup blood here.

District 1 is dead, now there are only two!

District 2 removes the arrows.

This was meant to be a missed hit, not a really bad shot of an arrow in his armpit.

Another bad shot, district 1 isn't supposed to be in the scene. Oops again.

Katie managed to knock him down!

Going in for the kill...

We didn't expect her to die, but Andrew was able to get his hands on his sword.

Alas, she is finished.

But with all of his wounds...

Andrew dies as well. 

We didn't expect to not have a winner at the end of this, and we had a lot of fun making these shots and putting everything together.

While Nichole did most of the shot planning and photography, I did most of the behind the scenes video and constructed the video blog. Both of us invested a lot of time in the planning and putting together of these shots, and even though Nichole is in Maine and I am now in Colorado, I'm really hoping we can make another Hunger Games photo shoot someday!
