Planning for a "Magical" Wedding

So, to get right to the point, I'm getting married in September. Better yet, we are planning on having a Hogwarts theme, and I hope as my planning progresses and everything (finally) falls into place, I will have a lot to share with others who are also hoping to have a similarly themed wedding.

In my search so far for ideas, many have been themed toward birthday parties rather than more formal celebrations like weddings, and while my friends and I have had a Harry Potter themed party before (for our college graduation party) a wedding is a bit different.

Things are still in the process of being planned and 'conspired', but I can at least share a few things.

For our themed graduation party, we made wands. Making a wand is pretty simple, you just need:
-Wooden dowels
-Glue gun
-Various paint (metallic paint looks the best)
-Glitter (if you're into that)

You can see it's a messy business!

My supply set up this year

These are wands I made this year. I painted the dowel first, then added hot glue for texture, and then painted the glue.
I also added flat glass to the tops of some, and it looks really good! I had to hot glue all the way around it to keep it in place.

During our graduation party, we had a small table with snacks, including some owl cake pops that I had made. I'm not sure if these would be good for a wedding, and this might be something left for the professionals, but for our party they were a lot of fun to make!

We also had jelly beans, Bertie Bott's every flavor, and because I'm evil, I mixed in regular jelly beans so it was harder to know what you were about to eat. Muhuhahaha.

Lastly, we had chocolate frogs, made from a mold my mom gave to me, and you can buy it on Amazon. We added melted peanut butter to the middles!
I DID leave an "Eat at own risk" sign...The container in the middle has extra cake pop balls. Making the owls was very time consuming, and I was tired long before I ran out of cake batter. This was my answer.
For our graduation party we dressed up. I'm with two of my three roommates, the third being unable to arrive at the party, since she had moved out early and was working that day.

Ron, Luna, and Hermione

I recently made snitch earrings, another easy craft. Once I finally found some wings (those buggers are hard to find!) I added them to a gold bead with wire.

I got a few photos in the hopes i could squeeze them in somewhere on the wedding webpage I made, and my cat decided to "help"

He's ALMOST holding the wand...

For now, this is all I have.
For anyone making a Harry Potter themed party of any sort, I hope this helps or even inspires you!
